Logan Paul has retained his WWE United States Championship at the Royal Rumble with a DQ victory over Kevin Owens.
The YouTuber turned professional wrestling prodigy was defending his title for the first time since winning it off luchador legend Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewell in early November.
Paul faced formidable competition in the shape of former WWE Champion – as well as three-time US Champion – Owens but prevailed in yet another fantastic match thanks to a disqualification.
Austin Theory and Grayson Waller handed Paul a pair of brass knuckles as the match reached its climax but Owens apprehended the weapon and landed a knock-out blow on his opponent.
The ‘Prize Fighter’ appeared to have secured the shock win but just before the referee registered the pin he spotted the knuckles on Owens’ hand, stopped his count and disqualified him. As a result, Paul retained his title.
After the match, an enraged Owens power-bombed Paul through the announcers’ table.

It’s of no surprise that Paul has retained his title, especially as he revealed earlier this week that he has put pen-to-paper on a new contract with the WWE.
New WWE contract for Paul
“The WWE renewed my contract, breaking news, and I figured if this is going to be a full-time job, maybe I stop treating this as a hobby,” Logan said on Instagram before showing off some training footage ahead of his match-up with Owens.
Paul didn’t reveal the length of the deal or if his obligations have increased but given he said wrestling is going to be a ‘full-time job’ we could be about to see a lot more of the US Champion on weekly television and PLEs.
