A modder has set out on a mission to replace every painting in Starfield with various pictures of the game’s director, Todd Howard.
It’s only been a week since Starfield’s release, and modders are already having a field day, which is no surprise given Bethesda’s previous games.
From disabling a feature that prevents players using mods from unlocking achievements to improving the UI, there are already lots of great Starfield mods that improve the overall experience.
Of course, many mods are just for fun, including one that replaces paintings with pictures of Bethesda Softworks director and executive producer Todd Howard.
Starfield’s Todd Howard Painting Replacer mod is just getting started
Created by ronaldomoon and released on Nexus Mods, the Todd Howard Painting Replacer mod does just what the title suggests: It replaces paintings in the Constellation Lodge, with images of Todd Howard.
There are various designs included with the mod. Some are simply pictures of Howard, while others place him in existing works of art or in front of landmarks. Most are edited to look like actual paintings.

The modder also has plans to expand the mod. While limited to the Lodge for now, ronaldomoon intends to “eventually replace all paintings with TODD.”
This is far from the first time Todd Howard has been added to one of his games. For example, there are popular Fallout 4 mods that add a statue of Howard as a general and replace a TV standby screen with a picture of him as Jesus.
Players who don’t use mods don’t have to miss out either, as Starfield players have been able to recreate Todd Howard in the game’s character creator – and robotic companion Vasco is even able to say his name.
