The Ayaneo Pocket S is poised to beat out other Android-handheld competition, with its Snapdragon G3x Gen 3 chipset and unique borderless full-screen display.
The Ayaneo Pocket S was originally announced last year, but now its Indiegogo page is up and running This upcoming handheld is poised to compete against high-end gaming smartphones with its dedicated gaming chipset and unique smartphone-inspired design.
While Ayaneo has yet to reveal how much the premium device is going to set us back, it has revealed a more in-depth look at the specs, and what sets it apart from the slew of Android handhelds out there.
Predominantly, the Ayaneo Pocket S marks the debut of the first use of the Snapdragon G3x gen 2 chipset, designed with gaming in mind. The Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 is equipped with Wi-Fi 7 and a 5G modem, so the Pocket S won’t falter when it comes to fast connection speeds and high-quality cloud gaming.
With other Android handhelds, like the Ayn-Odin 2 packing a punch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the Pocket S should be in good hands. The Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 also boasts higher CPU and GPU speeds. But, it remains to be seen just how well the chip stacks up to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
A gorgeous borderless full-screen display
According to Ayaneo, the Pocket S will also mark the debut of the first borderless full-screen design for an Android handheld. The 6-inch 2K borderless 1440p IPS display will provide you with more to see of your favorite Android-based games.

The 2560 x 1440 borderless mirrored screen comes decked out with a 100% sRGB color gamut, adding high clarity to whatever you choose to play. The screen is also endowed with touch-screen functionality, so you can add key mappings for non-controller-supported games.
Ayaneo has raised the bar when it comes to design too. The handheld is made up of a CNC-forced high-strength body with a sandblasted matt finish. Giving it a similar elegance to the high-end smartphones of today.
It also takes inspiration from PC gaming handhelds, coming with hall-sensing joysticks lit up with colorful RGB light effects. The ergonomically designed handheld sticks with the expected duo-thumbstick design. With an additional crystal-textured D-pad and accompanying ABXY buttons.
Similarly to past Ayaneo handhelds, the pre-launch for the Pocket S is up and ready on Indiegogo. Luckily, there won’t be a long wait for the official launch, as the Android handheld is expected to be available this April.
