On September July 21, an update for Xbox was rolled out. The update finally offered support for Discord on Microsoft consoles. This meant you could finally connect to its voice chats natively from your consoles without much hassle.

- Login to your Discord account from a different device. It can be a PC, Mobile Client, or from its official website
- Go to your User Settings
- Click on the Connections tab
- Click on the Xbox icon
- Once a window pops up, log in with your Microsoft account details
- Click on the “Authorize and Continue” option
Even if you’ve connected your Xbox account to Discord before, you need to connect it again. This will ensure you grant access to all the new permissions required to access the Voice feature on your Xbox console.

- Boot up your console
- Press the Xbox button
- Go to the Settings option from Profile & System menu
- Click on Account
- Navigate to “Linked social accounts”.
- Under the Not Linked section, choose the Discord tile
- Select Link
- Follow the prompts to connect your Discord and Xbox accounts

- Boot up your console
- Press the Xbox button
- Navigatge to ‘Parties & chats’
- Select ‘Discord Talk and stream’ option
- Select preferred Discord voice channel
One of the biggest takeaways from the new July 31 update is that you no longer need the Discord phone app to join voice calls. From now on, you can directly chat to your friends just using your Xbox console.
The Friends-List update also brought with it a “Happening now” tab, which will show off any of your Discord friends currently chatting, and gaming, on the social media gaming platform.
As well as this, Xbox Series X|S consoles have a noise suppression feature for Discord voice. Producing clearer audio that will cancel out things like keyboard clicking as well as other loud background noise.
