iOS 18 may be the biggest iOS update to date, featuring AI features and several new accessibility improvements, according to a leak.
Apple is expected to announce iOS 18 during its next developer’s summit in June 2024. The next iOS version is said to be getting major new upgrades and features. Apple is reportedly adding new AI features as well as giving the software a major design overhaul. But this may not be it, the Cupertino company may also have several accessibility improvements in the works.
According to MacRumors, Apple is working on several new accessibility features along with improvements to existing settings. Your iPhone settings could get better voice search and the Live Speech feature may offer more options.
iOS 18 could get better accessibility features
Apple might be introducing a new feature called Adaptive Voice Shortcuts. This would allow you to create commands to control accessibility settings. You could pick a unique phrase and then choose which accessibility setting you want it to activate, like VoiceOver, Voice Control, Zoom, and more.
Another big feature could be a new “Categories” section for Live Speech. MacRumors claims iOS will let you organize phrases into categories of your choosing.

“When creating a category, users will be given the option to name their category and choose from a selection of around 20 different icons. Once a category has been created, users will then be able to add their desired phrases,” reports the Apple-focused publication.
Elsewhere, Apple may expand support for adjustable Text Size to more apps. The Cupertino company may also be planning to utilize on-device eye tracking, but more concrete details are not available yet.
