A new Nintendo Switch 2 report claims the console might be released later than expected amid rumors of a 2024 launch.
Over the last few months, there has been a rather sizable uptick in rumors surrounding the eventual Nintendo Switch 2.
There are many in agreement that the next-gen Nintendo console will involve minor upgrades in performance with a sizable price increase, but the real question is when the device will be released.
Some believe it will drop in Fall 2024, but a new report claims the Switch 2 won’t be released until 2025.

News publication VGC confirmed this information with two sources as well, who confirmed that they are working on Switch 2 games that are planned for release in early 2025.
However, this doesn’t mean that the console itself is not going to release until then. These titles could be set to launch months after the Nintendo Switch 2, which is still widely thought to release before the end of fiscal year 2024.
VGC does report, however, that Nintendo’s fiscal year 2024 will run until April 2025 — meaning a FY 2024 launch could include a calendar year 2025 release.
At the time of writing, Nintendo has not shared any information regarding their plans. We’ll have to wait to see once Nintendo decides to make the next-gen device official.
