The RTX 4070 Ti is out now, and the GPU costs just $799, offering stellar performance if you can find it for MSRP. We go over everything you need to know, from price to specifications and benchmarks.
The Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti is out now. Originally named the RTX 4080 12GB, this GPU launched in early January for a price of $799. It joins the recently-released RTX 4090 and RTX 4080. We said that the RTX 4070 Ti had “admirable performance” when compared to higher-tier graphics cards in our full review. We also checked out a premium option for the GPU, too.
RTX 4070 Ti release date
The Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti was officially released on January 5, 2023. At CES 2023, Nvidia announced the card would hit store shelves just a few days after its presentation.
You have to remember, the RTX 4080 12GB was unceremoniously “unlaunched” after its initial reveal. That means that it’s very likely that the majority of these graphics cards were already built and assembled ahead of Nvidia’s U-turn. That’s why Team Green will be eager to roll out the GPU again in an attempt to get another product on the market after AMD’s RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX.

The GPU appears to be based on the GA104 Nvidia chip, and comes in at under $1000. Though, you may be hard-pressed to find any of these GPUs at this price point. It does have around a 20% performance gulf between it and the RTX 4080, as we specify in our benchmarks for the GPU.

Based on our testbench system, the RTX 4070 Ti is a more than adequate GPU for those seeking to get the best performance possible. You also get hallmark RTX 40-series features like AV1 support, DLSS 3, and more.
