A Reddit user has revealed their clever PC modification, using a lock and key to power on their gaming PC.
Gaming PC owners are constantly discovering new ways to elevate their hardware. Whether it’s modifying their gaming PC to look like a retro arcade cabinet or setting up their PC to turn on at the touch of an anime-themed launch button. You can always rely on someone to think up a new ingenious way to alter their gaming PC.
One Reddit chose to take the monotonous way of turning on their PC a step further. Reddit user Shellybee23 has modified their PC case, letting them kick-start their PC by turning a key, instead of pressing a power button.
Perfect for those with cats or kids
Posting to the r/PCMasterRace, Reddit user Shellybee23 shared an image of their ingenious modification. The image, reveals a lock and key, yet instead of being found on a locker or inside of a car, it’s the new PC power switch to their gaming PC.
Within the subreddit comments, Shellybee23 revealed that the alternative power switch was created by modifying a Raidmax X903 PC case. The key in question utilizes a momentary key switch, which was bought separately and then installed into the case through their own handiwork.
Shellybee23 thought of everything when it came to this unique PC modification. When prompted by subreddit user CrahmDem, who stated:
“It’s all over if you lose that key”.
