The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone. Here’s everything you need to know about the device.
It’s been almost five years since Samsung launched its first foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold. Samsung has polished these devices a lot in recent years, equipping them with better hinges, processors, and cameras.
The next generation of Samsung’s book-style foldable, which debuted at the summer Galaxy Unpacked event, is even better. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 brings several improvements, including a new processor, a revamped display, and minor battery and software upgrades.
Price
Samsung has launched the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in the US with a starting price of $1,899.99 for the base model featuring 256GB of storage. This marks a $100 increase from the previous year’s model. Other storage variants are also available, with the 1TB model priced at $2,019.99 and the 1TB option costing $2,259.99.
Where to buy
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is currently available for pre-order, with sales starting on July 26. You can pre-order the device from the official Samsung website, and once sales start, you’ll be able to pick it up from Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, and other offline and online stores.
Design & display
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 debuts with a boxy look. It has a flat-screen and back, resembling the design of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The foldable returns to a vertical camera layout, but unlike the S24 series, these cameras are grouped together in a small raised section. While similar to the Z Fold 5, the camera bump appears less bulky this time around, with a textured metal frame surrounding it.
The foldable has a 7.6-inch foldable display, with a 7:6 aspect ratio, and a 6.3-inch cover screen with a 22:9 aspect ratio.
The Z Fold 5’s cover screen has an aspect ratio of 23.1:9 which makes it hard to use. Other foldables, such as the OnePlus Open and Pixel Fold, opt for broader cover screens, making it easier for you to type and use Android apps. However, the 22:9 aspect ratio on the Z Fold 6’s outer display should make it slightly easier to use.

The Z Fold 6 is 12.1mm thick when folded shut, 5.6mm thick when unfolded, and weigh 239g. This makes the foldable slightly thinner and lighter than the Z Fold 5, which measures 13.4mm and 6.1mm when folded and unfolded, respectively, and weighs 253g.
Cameras
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 retains the same camera setup as the Z Fold 5, featuring a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP telephoto shooter. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 10MP shooter on the cover screen and a 16MP under-display lens on the folding screen.
Specs
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 brings 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The Z Fold 6’s battery remains the same at 4400mAh with 25W charging. For reference, OnePlus Open has a 4805 mAh battery and ships with a charger capable of supporting the 67W charging speed in the box.
The smartphone brings all the general specs, including Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6, Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support, and the ability to use eSIMs.
Performance
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 device brings a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. This chipset matches the one in the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Yet, it is not the same as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip seen in phones like the OnePlus 12.
Samsung is using an optimized version of Qualcomm’s latest processor, featuring a higher maximum clock speed of 3.4 GHz. Similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, you can expect the Z Fold 6 to deliver top-notch performance, capable of running demanding games, handling multiple apps, and recording videos for extended periods.
Colors
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be available in five color options: navy, pink, silver shadow, white, and crafted black. The latter two colors—white and crafted black—will be exclusively available through Samsung’s website.
