Sonos hinted at the introduction of a new product segment. It is rumored that the new Sonos headphones could launch sooner than you think.
Sonos, known for its premium smart audio products, has announced its plans to expand its product line. However, even a couple of months after an initial teaser, the new Sonos product is nowhere to be seen. The latest reports hint that Sonos might launch an AirPods Max competitor later this year.
While talking about the company’s financial outcomes and plans for 2024, Sonos’s CEO Patrick Spence has confirmed that the new category of products will not only be introduced soon, but will also retail in 2024.
He said, “We are at the onset of a multiyear product cycle as we harvest the benefits of our investments to enter new categories and launch new products, starting with the one we will be announcing and shipping in Q3.”
“We are just months away from announcing our highly anticipated new product in a multibillion-dollar category, which will be the first major milestone of our multiyear product cycle,” he added further.
While the announcement doesn’t specify that the company will launch headphones, given its expertise in the wireless audio segment, making bluetooth headphones is an obvious choice.

Expect a launch in time for the holidays
After the initial announcement hyped up the market, people expected a product reveal at the recently concluded CES 2024.
Surprisingly, Sonos was probably one of the biggest names missing from the tech event. This further fuelled rumor mills about the possible launch date.
Now, it seems inevitable that Sonos aims to introduce new products this festive season and wants to ensure they land with the customers over the holidays.
This is also the same time when most rivals, including Sony, Apple, Bose, and others, are expected to update their premium wireless headphones line-up.
According to Sonos, the new product introductions coming in 2024 are expected to bring in $100 million in revenue.
