Meta’s competitor to Twitter, Threads, has finally been updated to include a keyword search feature that will make it better compete.
Since its launch on July 5, 2023, Threads has continued to add a variety of sought-after features that users of the site have enjoyed.
They’ve added a following feed, created a web app, and have even given users the ability to see posts that they’ve liked in the past.
Threads has finally added keyword search to the platform, giving users the ability to find things easier.
Threads finally gets keyword search
On September 7, 2023, both Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram head Adam Mosseri revealed that Threads’ keyword search feature is available in most English and Spanish-speaking countries.
“Now available in more countries, on both mobile and web. We’re rolling out keyword search in English and Spanish, in countries where most people post in those languages – such as Argentina, India, Mexico, and the US. Try it out and let us know what you think,” Mosseri said.
Although Threads has lost a significant number of active users since its launch back in July, the site still has a large chunk of users posting each day and they’re excited for the new feature.

Another said: “OMG keyword search, I could cry. Thank you for this basic f*cking function.”
“Keyword search is rolling out to more people, yay!” commented a third user.
Threads also pushed the update to the web version of the platform, but it’s unknown when they’ll begin rolling it out to countries that speak other languages so we’ll be sure to update you when it happens.
