The 2018 Tekken World Tour Finals are underway, and things are already heating up – especially between commentators Reepal ‘Rip’ Parbhoo and Ryan Hart, who shared a hilarious moment during the Championship’s last-chance qualifier.
During the LCQ, Ryan Hart pointed out that one of Rip’s previous wins in Tekken 6 during the Evolution Championship Series tournament wasn’t truly legit, as the game hadn’t even been released on home consoles at the time, and was only available to play in Japanese arcades.
“A little birdie told me that your Evo win wasn’t actually official,” Hart stated, much to fellow commentators ‘Tasty Steve’ and ‘Spaghetti Rip’s’ amusement. “…so basically, you’re just the guy who gets to the finals and lets his country down,” he continued, referencing Rip’s previous 2nd and 3rd placements in subsequent Evo tournaments.
Rip appeared to take the insult with humorous indignation, returning with, “Aren’t you the guy who won Evo because of a home button?”
The two went back and forth until Tasty Steve brought up Rip’s Pokken championship win, to which Hart responded, “Are you trying to say that you’re a multi-game champion?”
“I didn’t want to get into it, because I know you ran away from Tekken to those 2-D games because you couldn’t hang in Tekken anymore,” Rip responded.

Hart returned Rip’s scathing reference to his Street Fighter career by citing his own prestigious list of legendary Tekken victories, bringing down the hammer with a final, brutal statement.
“I know what I’m talking about. I’ve won more tournaments than you’ll ever enter.”
Hart and Rip’s hilarious banter marked just one memorable instance from the 2018 LCQ, which was taken by Italian Katarina main ‘Ghirlanda’ in a nail-biting set with Japan’s ‘Double.’
