The first trailer for A Quiet Place: Day One has officially dropped, with fans already calling it “spectacular.”
Starring Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, the A Quiet Place movies have become firm horror favorites for many over the last few years. Now third movie, A Quiet Place: Day One, is set to take the reins.
First airing in 2018, the film franchise is set in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by blind extraterrestrial creatures with an acute sense of hearing. A fourth movie is also expected to be released at some point in 2025.
Before fans jump the gun with what might be in the future, the wait is over for the first look at A Quiet Place: Day One thanks to its “spectacular” new trailer.

The new trailer for A Quiet Place: Day One has officially dropped – check it out below:
Acting as a spin-off prequel, the trailer begins to reveal the events that led up to Day 476, which is where the story leaves off in present day. Picking back up on Day 1, Lupita Nyong’o takes center stage in learning why the world “went quiet” in the first place.
The film is set to explore “the beginning of the invasion in which deadly alien creatures with hyper-sonic hearing arrive on Earth,” with new faces – and feline friends – added to the terror along the way.

“WOW. This looks spectacular. So much bigger, so much more scope….I’m obsessed,” one fan reaction reads in response to the trailer drop.” Another added: “In 2018, I called the first movie The Scariest Movie of the Year. I just remember how quiet the theater was. I couldn’t eat my popcorn in the theater without it being too loud. Can’t wait for Day One.”
For others, A Quiet Place: Day One’s trailer is more reminiscent of other famous films outside of the franchise.
“War of the Worlds 2005 vibes, love it,” a third user added, with a YouTube comment further expanding “Lupita Nyong’o is easily one of the best actresses when it comes to the horror genre. She was amazing in Us so I’m so looking forward to seeing her leading this movie, what a fantastic addition. Couldn’t have gotten anyone else better than her for a spin-off movie.”
Djimon Hounsou, who has previously starred in A Quiet Place Part II, will be returning for this year’s prequel. Other potential cameos are as of yet unknown.
A Quiet Place: Day One isn’t creator John Kraskinski’s only film of 2024, with live-action animated comedy IF also set to be released in May.
