As fans continue to dissect the first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, some have theorized the return of a long-dead MCU character.
This year’s Super Bowl gave movie lovers a ton of new trailers to pick apart from Wicked to Twister, but by the most talked about one was the first look at Deadpool & Wolverine aka Deadpool 3.
The highly anticipated follow-up to 2018’s Deadpool 2, the movie will be the merc with the mouth’s debut into the Marvel Cinematic Universe along with various X-Men characters including the titular man with claws himself.
Because Deadpool & Wolverine will act as a springboard into a new phase of the MCU, fans have looked over every frame for hints of what to come and one moment has led many to believe the movie will be bringing back a long-dead MCU character.
Deadpool 3 could see the return of Marvel’s Quicksilver
One of the longest-running jokes between the MCU and 20th Century Fox’s X-Men is that there are two versions of the character Quicksilver: the MCU has Aaron Taylor-Johnson and 20th Century Fox has Evan Peters.
Unfortunately, Taylor-Johnson was killed during the Battle of Sokovia in Avengers: Age of Ultron, so Peters was left standing in the battle of the speedsters.

However, while fans were picking apart the first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, some noticed that one of the fight scenes seemed to be taking place in a very familiar MCU location.
In a blink-or-you’ll-miss-it moment, Deadpool can be seen fighting some soldiers in a snowy forest that resembles the woods outside of the Hydra base where Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were contained and experimented on, which is leading fans to think that Deadpool could be there to help save Quicksilver before he ever joins the Avengers on the mission that ended with his death.
The trailer already confirmed that the TVA (Time Variance Authority) will be playing a big role in the film and they handle all things concerning the multiverse, so it wouldn’t be super off base to believe that Deadpool could be traveling around to collect powerful heroes from different universes.
Many MCU fans believe the events of Deadpool & Wolverine will heavily impact the plot of Avengers: Secret Wars, so Deadpool saving Quicksilver could mean he wants the speedster to join the upcoming Avengers team and it would be a great way to convince Scarlet Witch, his twin sister, to join the fight.
There will be plenty of time to get your theories and plot guesses in line before Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters on July 26, 2024.
