The “ringarde” series Emily in Paris is returning for Season 4, but what does the Netflix show have in store?
Emily in Paris, starring Lily Collins and created by Darren Star, first debuted on Netflix in 2020. The series follows marketing exec Emily Cooper (Collins) as she embraces her adventurous new life in Paris while juggling work, friends, and romance.
Within just one month, the series topped the Netflix Top 10 chart, and despite not getting rave reviews from critics, its fanbase (and hate-watchers) has been solid enough to secure multiple seasons.
So, with its fourth season on the way, and previous installments considered among the best Netflix shows around, what’s in store for Emily and for Paris?
Emily in Paris Season 4 release date
Emily in Paris Season 4 will be divided into two parts — Part 1 will be released on August 15, 2024, with Part 2 following up on September 12, 2024.
The fourth season was actually confirmed back in January 2021, along with Season 3, and announced on an Instagram post.
The two series have been filmed somewhat back-to-back, but according to Variety, filming for Season 4 was delayed for at least two months by the WGA strike.

Emily in Paris Season 4 plot: What will happen next season?
Emily in Paris Season 4 follows Emily in a full-on love triangle, which now includes an unexpected baby in tow.
The official season synopsis reads, “After the dramatic events of Camille and Gabriel’s misbegotten wedding, Emily is reeling: She has strong feelings for two men, but now Gabriel’s expecting a baby with his ex, and Alfie’s worst fears about her and Gabriel have been confirmed.
“At work, Sylvie is forced to confront a thorny dilemma from her past for the sake of her marriage, and the Agence Grateau team navigates personnel shakeups. Mindy and the band prepare for Eurovision, but when funds run dry, they’re forced to get thrifty.
“Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is undeniable as they work together towards a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to undo everything they’ve dreamed of.”
There were some big reveals last season after Camille left Gabriel at the alter, despite supposedly being pregnant with his baby. Show creator Darren Starr told Entertainment Tonight that said pregnancy isn’t going away anytime soon, and will be a huge plot point:
“It’s very clear in Season 3 that it’s a big dream of [Gabriel’s]. He wants to be a father and I think he was excited and is excited about the idea of fatherhood, but you know, our show doesn’t move that quickly. One season really covers a couple months… We’ve had three seasons and maybe six months of actual time [have passed], so I’m not sure we’re going to actually see a baby in season 4. But I think that we’re going to have to deal with the prospect of the baby.”
As for Alfie, who left Emily after discovering he feelings for Gabriel, it turns out he isn’t gone for good. As stated by Starr, “Season 4 is going to be more about navigating complicated relationships; personal relationships and work relationships, and how they come into conflict with each other… Emily is still going to be working with Alfie, Gabriel, and Camille. Those work relationships are really fraught with emotional conflicts.”
