Awards season is in full swing, with cinema’s finest artists taking to stages across the world to collect their statuettes. Each win is an honor, and every loss stings, but they’re all on the runway to the biggest night of them all: the Oscars.
Last year’s ceremony was uniquely momentous, with Everything Everywhere All at Once dominating the acting categories with its three wins for Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Brendan Fraser also won a long-overdue Oscar for his breathtaking performance in The Whale.
The 96th Academy Awards is poised to have one of the strongest lineups of the 21st century to date. So, following the announcement of the nominations, these are our predictions for the names and movies at the end of those five anxious words: “And the Oscar goes to…”

We will list all of our predicted nominees, and our expected winners will be placed at the top of each list in bold. The list will also be ordered to indicate the next likely winner; so in the case of the Best Picture category, the 10th entry is the least likely to win – according to us, anyway.
