Reacher Season 2 just brought back Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher for a new adventure. So, how much time has passed since the events in Margrave?
The first season of the hit Prime Video series adapted Lee Child’s first Jack Reacher novel, Killing Floor. It charted the exploits of a former military policeman who now roams the United States as a self-proclaimed drifter with only a toothbrush in his pocket.
Despite vowing to see the country on his own terms, Reacher found himself in Margrave solving his brother’s death and stopping a drug cartel. Leaving Margrave behind, Reacher Season 2 sees him venture to New York to solve the murders of his former comrades.
With Reacher noticeably more buff than ever before, when does Season 2 take place?

Since Reacher Season 1, it’s been exactly two years, seven months, and 19 days since Jack Reacher left Margrave.
It’s not surprising that the new season takes place much later than the events of Margrave. Instead of following the chronological order of the books, Reacher Season 2 adapts Child’s 11th book in the series, Bad Luck and Trouble. It also explains why Alan Ritchson looks noticeably bigger and more muscular.

In Season 2’s first episode, we reconnect with Reacher as foils a carjacking and is forced to take money from an ATM in a new town. He finds a secret message in his bank account that only his old army buddy, Frances Neagley could’ve sent. Reacher soon learns one of their comrades from the 110th is dead.
He meets Neagley in a new city: New York. Neagley looks noticeably similar to her Season 1 appearance compared to Reacher. Even Reacher says she looks good for not seeing her in two years. Based on the details of the death report Neagley shows him, Reacher deduces the deaths of their friends aren’t simple accidents. Someone is killing them off.
