Sonic the Hedgehog 3 fans are sharing their frustrations at the upcoming film’s lack of marketing and are worried it has been delayed.
The upcoming sequel, which sees Sonic (Ben Schwartz), Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey), and Knuckles (Idris Elba) contend with Shadow the Hedgehog (Keanu Reeves), is only a few months from its release date.
But marketing for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has been practically non-existent. The only footage shown from the film has not been officially released, and most marketing channels have been quiet since Knuckles was released in May.
The fans are now becoming restless, with many voicing their frustrations on social media.
Fans demand Paramount release Sonic 3 trailer
Eager Sonic fans are at their breaking point over the lack of a Sonic trailer. The film is slated for release in December, but there’s been no sign of a trailer or poster, leading many to believe Sonic 3 has been delayed.
Now, vocal Sonic fans are demanding to know what’s going on with the movie. The last notable update came in April 2024, when it was announced that Keanu Reeves would voice Shadow and several notable franchise songs would appear in the film.

To date, the only footage screened from the film was a CinemaCon exclusive presentation. The short clip featured Sonc, Tails, and Knuckles facing off against Shadow and a returning Dr. Robotnick (Jim Carrey). The footage has not been publicly released as of this writing.
Even more are convinced the film will eventually be delayed. Those delays seem to stem from concerns raised when a noted leaker threatened to leak the movie in its entirety. However, this was later revealed to be a false threat after Netflix threatened legal action.
Was Sonic the Hedgehog 3 delayed?
As of this writing, no delay has been announced for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The film is scheduled for a December 20, 2024 release.
Fans can find some solace in knowing Sonic 3 hasn’t been forgotten. Users attending the 2024 GAMESCOM event discovered a teaser for the film at Sega’s booth, though it appeared to re-use Sonic 2 assets.
