According to a new rumor, Cal Kestis may be coming to the live-action Star Wars universe on Disney Plus.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been widely regarded as one of (if not the) best video game adaptations of the franchise. Much of the praise was laid on the story of protagonist Cal Kestis.
Kestis, a Jedi padawan who survived execution under Order 66, is in hiding as a Scrapper before his powers are revealed to the Empire’s Inquisitors. With his friend, Prauf, and two allies of the Jedi, Cere Junda and Greez Dritus, Kestis begins to re-discover his Jedi roots as they race to find an artifact that might allow the Empire to kill remaining Force-sensitive children.
Cal Kestis was already set to return in the game’s upcoming sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. But a new report suggests that might not be the only time he returns.
Disney Plus series featuring Cal Kestis rumored
According to a report by insider Kristian Harloff, a Cal Kestis series is allegedly in the works with actor Cameron Monaghan (who portrayed Kestis for the motion capture in Jedi: Fallen Order) set to return as the character.
Harloff is quick to distinguish that this is, in fact, a rumor and nothing has been confirmed by either Lucasfilm or Disney. “Got this from someone I’ve trusted in the past… The rumor itself, at the moment, is that there is a Cal Kestis show in the works for Disney Plus.”

Although no production dates have been set, Harloff concludes the thought by saying that his source “tells me this is happening.”
With the recent success of Star Wars shows on Disney Plus like Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Mandalorian, as well as hope for upcoming shows like Andor and Ahsoka, it makes sense that Disney would continue to try live-action series to expand the Star Wars universe.
Disney Plus has proven to be a strong vehicle for several of those characters, and Cal Kestis may just be the next one.
