The Bear Season 3 has started production, and fans have already spotted a detail that makes them think this newest season is going to bring a devastating theory to life.
For fans of kitchen-based dramas (and comedies, apparently), it doesn’t get much better than The Bear. The stressful story of a Chicago restaurant undergoing a major upgrade seemed to satisfy an appetite audiences didn’t even know they had. And now, we’re getting more.
The Bear Season 3 is in the works, with filming underway this month. And with a release date set for June this year, fans of Carmy and his crew won’t have long to wait, but that hasn’t stopped them from picking apart every detail they can get their hands on — including filming locations.
In fact, a returning location shared online has sparked the realization that one of The Bear’s most emotional arcs might just have the heartbreaking ending everyone thought it would.
The Bear Season 3 filming location confirms a devastating theory
One X user posted an image of a filming notice for The Bear Season 3, and according to the user, it was outside the location used for Marcus’ mom’s house.
The notice (using the code name ‘Kubelik’) specifies the dates needed for filming, as well as the fact that the full street is closed during that time. Two whole days needed for the location (on top of the scale) suggests that the house in question will host a major moment in the show. Unfortunately, many fans think they know exactly what that means, and it’s not good.

In The Bear, Marcus (the baker with a heart of gold) is seen taking care of his terminally-ill mother alongside working at the restaurant. During the Season 2 finale, Marcus misses several calls from his mother’s nurse.
Although it wasn’t confirmed, fans were certain this meant that the character had died during opening night. Now that his mother’s house is a confirmed location, they’re devastated to realize they were probably right.
“This season is about to emotionally wreck me in ways I never thought possible,” one user wrote, while another said: “rip marcus’s mom.”
“Let me say a prayer for Marcus,” another comment said.
Some even appeared to be in denial, with one comment saying: “Hey so like maybe they shouldn’t do what i think is about to happen,” and another user writing: “Going to pretend I didn’t see this.”
Of course, until The Bear Season 3 arrives, there’s no way of knowing what actually happened to our favorite characters post-opening night. But if there’s one thing to be happy about, it’s that we don’t have long to wait to find out!
