It wasn’t long after the first episode of The Mandalorian season two aired that excitement began to build around a Boba Fett spin-off that’s in the works for Disney Plus.
Now, it seems another fan-favorite could be making a return in a second potential spin-off from the Star Wars show.
Will The Mandalorian get a new spin-off?
Ever since it was revealed that – spoilers – former Jedi Ahsoka Tano would be making her live-action debut in season two of The Mandalorian, it’s been speculated that this could lead to a new series focusing on her.

Having first appeared in The Clone Wars, followed by Rebels, Ahsoka’s story is far from over, and this was definitely hinted at during Chapter 13 of The Mandalorian.
If you haven’t seen the latest episode, it’s best to look away now… as one character’s name that popped up in the show was none other than Grand Admiral Thrawn, who was last seen at the end of the animated series Star Wars Rebels.

The final season of the show had ended with Ahsoka planning to seek out protagonist Ezra Bridger, after he gave himself up to Thrawn, with it initially being unclear if he had survived or not.
It has since been confirmed by Dave Filoni that the character has indeed survived, and that would explain why Thrawn is still in demand.
With the chase still not over, this seems the perfect opening for a spin-off, either back in animation like Rebels, or bringing even more characters into a new live-action show, joining Ahsoka.
Fans have shared their thoughts about this on Reddit, with user nick_cimo saying the story has plenty of potential as a spin-off. “I doubt [they’ll] waste that big storyline in this show that already has its own amazing plot and characters.”
As The Mandalorian continues to grow, introducing other key characters from the franchise, such as Bo-Katan, fans are even more hopeful for the show’s future.
New episodes of The Mandalorian are available to stream on Disney Plus every Friday.
