Actor Tom Hollander revealed that he was mistakenly sent Spider-Man star Tom Holland’s Avengers bonus paycheck in a hilarious mixup.
When it comes to acting and making a giant paycheck, the likes of Marvel, DC, and other blockbuster franchises are the roles that offer up the most income. After all, most of these big-picture projects manage to make up to billions of dollars, meaning they have the budget to enlist A-list stars.
As well as this, many actors who work on Marvel films have been known to negotiate bonus pay in their contracts, in turn earning even more money from their role months after completing the job.
Actor Tom Hollander revealed in a recent interview with Seth Myers that he was accidentally sent Spider-Man actor Tom Holland’s Avengers bonus pay.
Hollander, who is best known for his work in Pirates of the Caribbean, hinted at the massive bonus he was sent that should have gone straight to the popular Spider-Man actor.
“People in the accounts department of my agency got confused. We were with the same agents briefly. And it was a terrible moment,” Hollander told Meyers in the interview.

“I went to see my friend who was doing theater in England. I sat smugly in the audience just having done a BBC show for $30,000 … the interval came and I checked my email and I got one from the agency saying, ‘Payment slip for first box office bonus for ‘The Avengers.’”
Hollander jokingly added, “I don’t think I’m in The Avengers,” but revealed he still went ahead and opened the letter.
“It was an astonishing amount of money,” Hollander admitted. “It was not his salary. It was his first box-office bonus. Not the whole box-office bonus, the first one. And it was more money than I’d ever [seen]. It was a seven-figure sum.”
Holland, who has been taking a break from acting after a rigorous schedule in recent years, is rumored to be reprising his role as the web-slinging in the future.
However, it is unclear if a new Spider-Man movie is in development and what the plot will be.
