Unfortunately, there is no fixed release date yet for new episodes to appear, but that doesn’t mean fans – and crew members – haven’t been coming up with theories of their own.

Virgin River star shares exciting Season 6 update
Over on her Instagram profile, Alexandra Breckenridge – who plays Mel in the show – revealed that the Virgin River cast is due to start filming for Season 6 in the next few weeks.
The actress said via an Instagram story: “It’s like 16 days until I have to leave… every season I don’t know how to pack. I feel like the essential intelligence molecules in my brain decide to leave and they say ‘We’re not interested anymore.’ And then I get completely confused.
“How does one pack for three months? Like I don’t know… Yes, I have a lot of sweaters but I don’t get rid of a lot of stuff. I do get rid of stuff but I wear all of this stuff pretty frequently. How do you pack all of it?”

Almost immediately, Reddit users clocked onto the Virgin River Season 6 announcement, sharing their excitement online.
“It’s Getting Closer, Gang,” one user posted. “Today on Instagram, Alexandra has a story about leaving in 16 days to start filming. She’s in her closet, lamenting the fact that altho she’s done this before, she has to pack for three months and doesn’t know where to begin. I have that problem when I have to pack for an overnight.”
“Season 6 filming is about to start. I saw somewhere that it starts sometime in early February so that’s just a month away,” another user continued. “I hope the writers took this long break to study the books, study the dynamics between Mel and Jack, hire new intimacy coordinators AND most importantly, I hope they took this time to read all the fans’ comments on all social media platforms regarding Season 5. I hope they listened to the fans and if what they had previously written weren’t aligned with how the story really supposed to go, I hope they’re smart enough to rewrite it and make it right.
“Because the truth is, as much as I love this show, if these writers don’t get their act together, this show will not make it to Season 7. Fans all over the world have been disappointed by not just the storylines, but also by the writers’ lack of consideration to the fans who have supported this show since the beginning. So I hope this time the writers make things right. I hope they focus this Season on Jack and Mel’s relationship and journey as a couple, and most of all, I hope they stop making them act like an elderly couple.”
Judging by Breckenridge’s Instagram story, filming for Virgin River Season 6 will officially start on February 9, 2024.
The star also recently posted a series of social media throwbacks to the filming of Season 5, claiming that she hopes to be able to recreate the good times on the set of Season 6.
