Doctor Strange 2 has had bit of a tumultuous development after switching directors, but it seems like things might on the upside for the sequel. Here’s everything we know about ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’
It’s safe to say that ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ is probably the most anticipated MCU film currently scheduled, with a possible exception to Thor: Love and Thunder. The movie is set to explore the multiple Marvel universes in a way not yet seen on screen, and may even include a few cameos.
That being said, the movie is still a couple years away, due to the fact that both the whole MCU schedule got shifted and the director of the original movie backed out. It’s safe to say that the film’s had a bit of a rough time when it comes to development, but recent news might mean that things are finally going full speed ahead. Here’s what we know.
When will Doctor Strange 2 begin filming?
On October 1, 2020, Benedict Cumberbatch revealed in a WatchTime India interview that ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ is currently in pre-production, and is set to begin filming in “late-October or early-November 2020”.
Obviously, with everything going on in the world right now, these plans could change rapidly – but currently, it seems like things are about ready to get kicked off properly.

What’s the current plot for Doctor Strange 2?
This is a big unknown right now. Generally speaking, Marvel is a bit tight lipped when it comes to their stories. That being said, we know that the Sam Raimi-directed film will include the Marvel multiverse (hence the title) in some way, and that it will both involve the Scarlet Witch and her upcoming show WandaVision. Beyond that, however, we don’t know much.
When will the Doctor Strange 2 trailer be released?
If filming hasn’t even started on the movie yet, then fans shouldn’t expect a trailer for a while. Depending on how long the shoot is and whether or not the flick gets delayed even more, there’s a good chance we won’t get any trailer until the Summer 2021.
Of course, all this is purely speculation and we won’t know much until filming has begun, but this is currently where we stand when it comes to the upcoming title. This article will be updated as new information comes out, so keep it locked to Dexerto to find out more about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in the coming months.
