Director Zack Synder confirms that Rebel Moon Part I’s director’s cut will be released on Netflix alongside the sequel later in 2024 and that the two will combine to be a six-hour experience.
Director Zack Snyder has developed a cult following among movie fans thanks to his string of director’s cut versions of his most popular films.
The likes of Batman vs Superman, Justice League, and more all received major acclaim from fans thanks to the release of their extended versions.
Snyder’s latest film to release, Rebel Moon Part I, is also in line to receive the director’s cut treatment, with Snyder revealing that the aim is to have this elongated version of Part I ready to release alongside Part II on Netflix later this year.
Speaking to I Minutemen, Snyder made clear he doesn’t have a release date in mind for the extended films but did say a same-day release in summer 2024 is likely.

“Those will come out, probably, on the same day, later,” Snyder said. “We don’t have a date yet, but I think it’s going to be in the summer.
“They’re each about an hour longer than the originals, the PG-13 [versions]. So it’ll be nice to see the six hours together. You can take a break, of course. It’s a more, maybe, immersive experience. I’m interested for people to see it that way. It’s very adult, it’s very R-rated.”
Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver arrives April 12, 2024, less than five months after Part 1: A Child of Fire hit Netflix in December 2023.
