Riot Games have finally released the first gameplay preview for Valorant, formerly known as Project A, and a number of brand new weapons have been spotted already.
The game developers have revealed that their next major project is going to be made available in Summer 2020, leaving those who can’t wait to play it sniffing around for any information they can get about how things will work in the game – and weapons will play a huge part in that learning curve.
While an official list and breakdown of guns and items haven’t been unveiled just yet, a fair few have been spotted in the trailer, giving us an idea of what’s to come from potentially the next big first-person shooter.
Riot posted an alpha gameplay preview on March 1 to the Valorant YouTube channel, insisting that a lot could still change in the period between then and release, but just like many trailers of this type, a number of new weapons were staring us right in the face. So, let’s break them down.
Valorant weapons list: What we know so far
Straight off the bat, we’re introduced to a full set of guns, all of which have been given names. Whether or not these titles will stick it out for the launch of Valorant remains to ben see, but here’s what we could see for a split second.
As seen in the screenshot above, we now know the potential names for 17 of the game’s weapon list. It’s unclear as to whether or not this is the complete list or just a section of it, at this stage, but there’s a fair bit to talk about with this alone. There is also a tactical knife for players to use, too.
There are five sidearms, with primaries including: two submachine guns, two shotguns, four rifles, two snipers and two heavy pieces of weaponry. A full list of which can be found below.

Closer look at Valorant’s weapons
Some weapons were showcased more than others in the trailer, however, giving us a better insight into how a few of them work.
The Vandal, seen below, takes up the majority of the gameplay footage and seems to have a decent rate of fire for a rifle.
Aside from that, we also saw quite a bit of the Operator sniper rifle towards the end of the clip, and it looks like it’s going to be a bolt-action weapon in a similar vein to CS:GO’s iconic AWP.
With that being said, will the other sniper – the Marshal – also be bolt-action or semi-automatic? We’ll have to wait and see, and that goes for many of the weapons we know about so far.
