Popular Mixer streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has delved into why Valorant has effectively ruined other video games, after having the chance to try Riot’s exclusive playtest.
It’s safe to say that Valorant has taken the esports world by storm. With players of all levels pledging allegiance to Riot’s tactical shooter prior to its official release, there is no doubt that the League of Legends developer has cooked up a storm with their first-person shooter title.
Plenty of content creators from all over had the exclusive opportunity to take Valorant for a test drive between March 27-29, with the general consensus being that the game is primed to make a huge dent in an already crowded FPS market.
One high-profile streamer who remained tight-lipped about his experience with Riot’s competitive shooter was former Counter-Strike pro, shroud — who simply described his encounter with Valorant as “fun.”
However, during a subsequent broadcast, the Mixer streamer delved a little deeper into his thoughts on the highly anticipated title.
“It’s a f**king bummer though, I feel like I was already kind of bored and I didn’t know what to play… But after playing Valorant, it makes it all worse,” Grzesiek stated.

“Because now I’m sitting here and I’m like ‘dude, I just played a f**king gem’ and now I’ve got to go back to trash.”
After a brief pause, shroud went on to describe Valorant as “incredible,” before proceeding to hype up the game even further.
“I can’t say anything in detail, but I can tell you that it’s one of the greatest games I’ve played in a very, very, very long time.”
Considering the plethora of titles which shroud has turned his hand to over the years, that is a bold statement to come from the Canadian — especially when you consider that his proficiency lies within FPS titles.
The 25-year-old went on to state that Valorant is “looking good” despite still only being in the beta stages of its development cycle.
