Streaming superstar Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has revealed his personal Agent tier list for Valorant’s competitive scene – and his ranking might surprise you as it goes against the grain.
Ever since the Valorant closed beta launched on April 7, players have been trying to get to grips with Riot Games’ take on the first-person shooter genre. Aside from learning the new recoil patterns, the maps, and figuring out the timings of things, the biggest thing to learn are the different Agents.
Each Agent has their own unique ability that you have to combine together in order to pick up wins in Valorant. As players have had some time to figure out which is the best Agent for them, there has been lots of discussion about which one is the overall top dog. Though, Shroud’s pick isn’t who you might expect.
During a recent stream, the former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional was asked to rank the Agents in a tier list – though he went one step further and gave an actual rundown on who comes in first and who is last.
The Mixer star revealed that his top three choices are Cypher, Sage, and Sova, while Brimstone, Phoenix, and Breach follow just behind. Viper comes in seventh, Omen is eighth, and Jett is ninth – leaving the controversial Raze to wrap things up as the tenth best Agent.

Shroud noted that his current ranking is for Agents in a competitive setting – when you’re picking a composition to counter the enemy team and playing strategic – rather than running and gunning like a public match.
Though, he added that should Raze receive a nerf in some way because of her easy use in public matches, that could harm her even more in competitive play – making her a completely unviable option.
Of course, any changes will come from Riot Games themselves once the closed beta portion of testing is wrapped up. So, we’ll just have to wait and see if anything changes come Valorant’s full release.
