Professional Valorant teams and players have seemingly cursed themselves by posting a panel from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, resulting in devastating losses after.
Valorant pros and teams often post videos or photos of the team to excite their fans or talk trash with their opponents. A common way for players to engage with fans before a match is to post a clip or a photo of an anime character powering up or saying something boastful.
The crossover between anime watchers and professional esports players and fans is supposedly high based on the amount of references teams make and collaborations between esports organization’s merchandise and animation companies.
However, posting one specific panel from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga seems to have put a curse on players before loading into their pro-match.
Gojo curses Valorant players
The curse started with 100 Thieves, who posted about their VCT Americas Kickoff bracket group draw. The post featured their group, followed by a panel from the JJK manager featuring the series’s strongest character Satoru Gojo.

The team would bomb out of the event losing to Leviatán and Sentinels. The next victim of the curse was Paper Rex’s Ilya ‘something’ Petrov, who posted the panel ahead of his VCT Pacific Kickoff Grand Final matchup against Gen.G.
Paper Rex would go on to lose 3-1 and earn the second seed out of the region at VCT Masters Madrid. The wider community has come to accept the panel as cursed, with even Fnatic getting in on the joke after losing to Karmine Corp in the VCT EMEA Kickoff tournament and missing the international tournament.
Whether this trend will continue remains to be seen. If fans see a player or organization post Gojo, or mention the curse, just know that a devastating loss could be on the horizon.
