Jake “Boaster” Howlett is known for his Valorant prowess and dance moves, and he combines them both to secure the ace in this Valorant match.
Since Valorant‘s esports circuit came together, Fnatic has become a household name due to its incredible successes. Many factors play into the team’s success, with one of those factors coming from the team’s IGL, Boaster.
The IGL’s made a name for himself with his shotcalling, and when he’s not on the big stage, his occasional streams provide educational content for viewers to enjoy. When he’s not grinding Valorant for new strategies and or his K-pop walkouts, he’s proven to be talented in other areas. He frequently shares clips on his social media of excellent dance moves and his musical prowess.
Proving his clutch crown from the 2023 season was no fluke, Boaster nabs an ace clutch the unconventional way — with a DDR dance mat.
Boaster secures Valorant ace with a DDR dance mat
In a content piece for Fnatic, the organization challenged Boaster to play Riot Games’ FPS with a DDR dance may instead of the traditional mouse & keyboard. Granted, he could still use both, but the DDR mat was his main method of moving around and using abilities.
Facing a potential round loss, the IGL kicks in his skills with a quick three-piece as he and Omen attempt to plant A on Lotus. The bomb goes down, and during the clutch, Fnatic challenges him to bust out a K-pop dance amidst the chaos.

After a flurry of moves and Omen going down, Boaster spams through the smoke to secure the round and get his team’s first win.
Aside from the big ace, Boaster manages to spread the cheer in-game. The overall goal was for him to complete four challenges, such as getting his teammates to sing. He does just that, as he gets his teammate to sing “Gangnam Style.”
By the video’s end, Boaster reigns supreme despite his team losing the Valorant match. For his efforts, he nabbed a set of NewJeans photocards, which he seemed to enjoy.
With the VCT season kicking off soon, here’s hoping Boaster brings it on stage.
