Plenty of information has surfaced on Valorant’s gameplay and the majority of characters, but little is known about one Agent in particular.
Eight Agents surfaced as part of Riot Games’ Valorant press release on March 2. An array of Agents have made Valorant’s starting roster of characters, with four more rumored to be in the pipeline ready for the game’s official release.
While we have developed a pretty comprehensive profile on most of the characters, Omen seems to be flying under the radar. So here’s everything we know about the mysterious Agent so far.
Who is Omen?
Omen is described as a shadow hunter, whose origins are completely unknown. According to the Agent’s description, he “renders enemies blind, teleports across the field, then lets paranoia take hold as foes scramble to uncover where it might strike next.
While images of the shadow hunter remain under wraps, a lot can be deduced by their namesake. Originally a League of Legends concept, Omen was set to be a Voidborn creature.
However, due to a lack of direction, the Champion never made the cut and was ultimately replaced by Riven on Summoner’s Rift.
The Agent’s namesake was intended on being a Voidborn Champion and that Omen’s Valorant lore is built on the “the unknowable nothingness that lies beyond” — which seems to fit Omen’s mysterious dark and cryptic character description all too well.
Omen’s abilities
Buyable ability 1: Paranoia — Send out an Ethereal shadow in a straight line, Nearsighting anyone it touches.

Buyable ability 2: Shadow Walk — After a delay, dematerialize and teleport a short distance.
Signature Ability — Dark Cover: Cast out a stealthed ethereal orb that bursts into an obscuring sphere of shadow at its final location. Can be charged to increase distance.
Ultimate Ability — From the Shadows: Select anywhere on the map to teleport and reform. When arriving, appear as a Shade, that will go back to your original location if killed. Once the teleport is complete, become Incorporeal for a short time.
You can tell a lot by an Agent from their Signature Ability, and Omen’s ability to manipulate the shadows with an ethereal orb plays into their League of Legends’ ties.
Moreover, Omen’s power to become temporarily bodiless as part of their Ultimate Ability all-but-confirms their knack of manipulating The Void.
So could Omen’s lore act as a direct link into the League of Legends universe? This would certainly be a logical reason as to why they’re the only Agent Riot have kept under wraps thus far.
