Streaming superstar Tyler ‘World of Warcraft Classic and, to the surprise of nobody, it quickly took hold of him.
The release of WoW Classic has allowed many big streamers to return to the roots of their childhood and recapture the nostalgia they have for the game.
However, that’s not necessarily the case for everyone. Ninja has now dipped his toes into the pool, without ever actually having played the game before in the first place.
Ninja does have experience with MMOs in the past, including Final Fantasy XI and Star Wars The Old Republic, but he’s never spent any real time with World of Warcraft.

That all changed with the release of Classic and he immediately revealed he was addicted.
“I’ve literally accepted one quest in wow and I’m addicted,” he tweeted. “Send help.”

It was actually long-time friend and streamer Ben ‘DrLupo‘ Lupo who got Ninja to start playing in the first place.

Through the power of some friendly peer pressure, he was able to convince Ninja to hop on.
“Ahhhhhhhhhh, fuck,” Ninja said as he pondered it, which got a laugh out of his friends since Ninja didn’t know he was on speakerphone in front of thousands of viewers.
His journey into Classic couldn’t have had much worse timing as he partnered with Microsoft to stream the Gears 5 campaign on the same day.
That’s not a knock on Gears but once WoW is able to get you in the door, the desire to do other things go out the window, as many streamers can attest to. Luckily, they are able to make their living streaming the game so no harm, no foul.

Ninja was definitely on the fence about getting started in the first place but with him now getting a taste of what the experience is all about, it might be a while before we see him back on something else full-time.
