Moistcr1tikal has slammed a couple’s “gross” plan that allows them to walk city streets barefoot by removing the soles of their shows.
TikTok has seen an increase in users switching to walking barefoot for increased health benefits and ‘grounding.‘
While Healthline agrees that there are in fact positives that come with going shoeless, it appears some think the trend may have been taken too far.
Popular YouTuber ‘Moistcr1tikal‘ has slammed a couple for removing the soles of their $20,000 shoe collection so that they may discreetly go barefoot in public.
TikToker Christi Fritz shared on the platform that she and her husband had removed their shoe soles following a suggestion from one of their followers. She said, “Since some businesses don’t want us being completely barefoot if we cut off the bottom of our shoes it allows us to be barefoot but blend in with everyone else.”
But while Christi considered the idea “the new age of barefoot walking,” not everyone was on the same page. Notably, Moistcr1tikal took to YouTube to share his thoughts on the couple’s “gross” idea.

“Cutting the bottoms of your shoes off so you can walk around in the city streets barefoot and into businesses barefoot is absolute insanity,” the YouTuber stated. “That’s a lot of money to just flush down the sh***** just to be able to secretly walk around barefoot.”
“I did a little research — there are some stated benefits of walking around barefoot on grass in nature,” Moistcr1tikal continued, referencing ‘grounding’. “Not dirty ass city streets that are covered in poop and in f****** grime and grease and filth or on the floors of businesses which again are going to be covered in all kinds of shit.”
“The benefits of walking around barefoot are minimal at best but there are some and it’s all in nature; in a forest, on the beach — like literally anywhere besides just contaminated city streets. This is just vile and disgusting.”
And Moistcr1tikal isn’t the only one ‘disgusted’ by the couple’s antics, with TikTok users taking to Christi’s comment section to slam their barefoot endeavors. Nonetheless, it doesn’t appear that the backlash will stop the couple from sporting their soleless shoes anytime soon.
