YouTube star MrBeast has nabbed a cameo role in Kung Fu Panda 4 — but the internet isn’t too enthusiastic about him getting cast in the animated film.
Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson is one of the most famous faces on the internet. In fact, he’s the most-subscribed independent creator on YouTube and has gained international acclaim for his big-budget videos, over-the-top challenges, and — of course — his habit of giving away eye-popping amounts of money.
Jimmy’s fame has even earned him some surprising cameos in feature films, such as his small role in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem last year.
Now, he’s scored another small role in yet another major animated movie… but fans aren’t too enthusiastic about this latest development in his career.
MrBeast’s Kung Fu Panda 4 role sparks backlash from movie fans
Kung Fu Panda 4 hits theaters today, March 8, and fans of the franchise can’t wait to see Po return to the big screen. However, it looks like they aren’t excited about MrBeast’s role in the movie.
News of his casting in the film hit the internet on March 7, and commenters didn’t seem happy with this turn of events.

“We didn’t ask for this,” one user wrote on Twitter/X.
“Can MrBeast stop starring in animated movies please?” another said.
“Why is MrBeast in Kung Fu Panda 4?” yet another asked. “He’s not an actor, and I refuse to believe that children would recognize him by his voice, so like, why? I hate it, please take it back.”
However, others are defending the YouTuber’s one-liner in the movie, with one arguing: “Cartoon reviewers getting mad at celebrity cameos is so funny. Sadly, Kung Fu Panda 4 is not a hidden masterpiece, it’s just a kids movie made to entertain kids, and children like MrBeast.”
MrBeast is far from the first YouTuber to score a role in a major Hollywood production of late. In 2023, YouTube stars CoryxKenshin and MatPat starred in Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s movie — much to fans’ approval.
