Battlefield V’s new battle royale mode finally has a name, Firestorm, and is confirmed to support a maximum of 64 players.
Officially revealed in a new trailer that dropped on Tuesday, September 4, the battle royale mode will feature the biggest map ever released in Battlefield’s history. Featuring destructible buildings, and a wide range of offensive vehicles for players to put to use.
The trailer confirms that there will be 64 players on the map at a time, as 16 teams of 4 battle it out to be the last team standing. Interestingly, that means there are no solo or duos game modes, which are prominent parts of other battle royale franchises.
Also featured in the new trailer is multiplayer, which will launch with 8 game modes. Fan favorites Frontline and Conquest are returning, along with new modes like Grand Operations, which allows players to take part in battles inspired by historical events from World War 2.

Battlefield V’s closed beta officially began on Tuesday, September 4 for anyone who has pre-ordered the game ahead of release. The open beta begins on Thursday, September 6.
