Censor Responds to Yanet “Throwing Shade” At Him and Discusses his Heartbreak at CWL Champs

compLexity Gaming player Doug “Censor” Martin has opened up about the recent Call of Duty World Championship, and addressed his former girlfriend Yanet Garcia “throwing shade” at him online.

Following their very public break up, which sparked more interest than they probably expected across the internet and social media, Censor admits his “life has turned into a meme this past month.”

Censor and his long time girlfriend split with both of them moving in different directions professionally, as Censor needed to put more time into competing at the highest level of CoD esports.

He had vowed to win the CWL Championship, but despite good performances at the tournament, his team came up short, finishing top 16.

Evil Geniuses won the event, and Yanet posted on Twitter an image of one of the winning players, Justin “SiLLY” Fargo, with his partner celebrating the win, and added the caption “True love”.

In his video, Censor responds, and tried to clear up the situation once again.

“A lot of you think I just broke up with her for Call of Duty, and it’s pretty obvious that that’s not the only reason why, but I don’t want to get into the specifics or the details, I know it’s not my place.

I know she’s going out and throwing shade on me literally every single day on Twitter, and she’s still liking all my stuff on Instagram but she unfollows me. It doesn’t make sense to me, whatever, everyone grieves in their own way.”

He continues, going into more details about why they split.

“One of the major reasons why I did it, is because I wanted to focus on my career. And I just don’t understand the point of being in a long distance relationship, where we can’t see each other because we have careers. I just feel like it would be a waste of time.”

Finally, he also congratulated SiLLY especially for winning CWL Champs while still keeping his own relationship. SiLLY’s teammate, Bryan “Apathy” Zhelyazkov, is also married.

“So for all the players out there who are able to be in relationships and still win, like I know SiLLY has a girlfriend and he won, so like kudos to those guys, because I can’t imagine how hard it is. It’s so tough to balance being a competitor, having relationships and having a normal life, like actual friends in real life.”
