As Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode continues to gain popularity, Treyarch remains hard at work bringing updates to the game’s battle royale mode.
Despite all the fun of Blackout, managing the inventory, especially on console, can sometimes be a bit of a chore during the most hectic moments.
Less than a day after posting an update on changes coming to grenades in Blackout, Treyarch studio design director David Vonderhaar has revealed an upcoming update to the Quick Menu system that will please console fans everywhere.
While the Quick Menu allows players to access their healing an equipment a bit easier, it still requires cycling through using the d-pad, which can be the difference between life and death in certain situations.
After the latest update, though, players will be able to use L1 to cycle through heals and R1 to cycle through equipment while the Quick Menu is open.

PC will also get the new change, with it likely coming in the form of a keybind, according to Vonderhaar.
Article continues after adThe one drawback of this system, however, will be that players won’t be able to heal or use the equipment while the Quick Menu is open with this option. Still, it’ll be a much quicker method than having to cycle through every item.
In a follow-up tweet, Vonderhaar let fans know that this was just one of three quality of life updates Treyarch has planned for item management.

With Vonderhaar vowing to make Blackout “the best in the business on all platforms,” fans should expect the updates to continue rolling out in the coming days an weeks.
