An Ed Sheeran lookalike tricked fans into thinking he was the real deal when handing out free vegan nuggets to the masses in London.
Ed Sheeran is a pop star sensation worth millions of dollars, so it’s unlikely you’ll ever find him giving out free food from a truck in the middle of freezing cold London.
That didn’t stop fans of the British musician thinking he really was doing just that though, thanks to doppelganger Ty Jones.
Fake Ed Sheeran strikes back
On January 12, celebrity outlet TMZ broke the news of “Sheeran’s” UK adventure, revealing that he was seen giving out free plant-based nuggets to supporters hungry for a glimpse of the star – except it wasn’t really him at all, of course.
The food truck was owned by a brand called THIS, a vegan snack company who set up shop in the BOXPARK shopping centre in Shoreditch.
THIS had allegedly teased fans by stating that an A-list celebrity might be dropping by to help hand out the meat-free bites, who ended up pulling the wool over the eyes of everybody who showed up.

According to the TMZ article, the company employed the lookalike to help sell their new vegan snacks, and also hired a bodyguard to accompany him, too.
This isn’t the first time that Ty has fooled fans into thinking he’s the real deal either – he completely tricked the likes of Sommer Ray, Roman Atwood, and Tana Mongeau at KSI vs Logan Paul 2 in Los Angeles in November 2019.
YouTuber Josh Pieters hired the doppelganger to fly to the event, as he wanted to see how many celebrities and influencers he could prank for a video.
Ty Jones is a 25-year-old actor from Manchester, United Kingdom, and frequently takes on bookings for events where he doubles as Sheeran.
He even met the musician back in 2012, and claimed that the pair hit it off, with Ed stunned by how much he looked like him.
