After his controversial tweet on anxiety landed him in hot water, Jake Paul has expanded on his mindset and fired back at those who looked to tear him down over the divisive statement.
Just days after a since-deleted tweet went viral and caught the attention of thousands around the world, Jake Paul took to his brother’s Impaulsive podcast in an attempt to clarify his statement and share his own experiences with the mental health disorder.
Rather than backtracking on his removed post, the YouTuber reaffirmed his position and slammed those who criticized him for sharing his thoughts.
“Remember that anxiety is created by you,” his February 20 tweet stated. “Sometimes you gotta let life play out and remind yourself to be happy & that the answers will come. Chill your mind out, go for a walk, talk to a friend.”
When put under the spotlight and questioned by both his brother Logan Paul and fellow Impaulsive host Mike Majlak, he bluntly expressed that he feels “like [he’s] half right.”
“You can let [negative thoughts] keep going and get more anxious, or you can realize that I’m doing this to myself, these are my thoughts and you can control your thoughts,” the YouTube star stated.
Explaining that he “didn’t even know there were people who were chemically imbalanced and couldn’t control it,” he grew agitated and questioned, “why [he] would know that?”

Wanting to share his experiences dealing with the mental health disorder, the newfound professional boxer argued that no one should be able to criticize him for laying out his mindset and raising awareness on the matter.
“Who the f*** is going to tell me I can’t talk about this so that a younger kid, who maybe doesn’t know that they have anxiety, finds out about anxiety, learns how to deal with it and moves forward,” he said.
“People are attacking you because the platform you hold is massive,” Majlak countered, emphasizing that due to his reach, he should be held to a higher standard. “You’re a massive global entity that speaks to millions.”
“I don’t know what the f*** I’m doing,” Jake swiftly responded. “I understand that and I get that, but you can’t be fu**ing perfect.”

Despite having taken down the initial tweet, it seems as though the Paul brother is still of the mindset that most of his statement was accurate and that he should not be slammed for raising awareness of the mental health disorder.
