YouTuber Logan Paul’s controversial Flat Earth ‘mockumentary’ has come and gone – but his next big project could take his content in a completely different direction.
Russian entertainment outlet Generation Iron announced that Paul would be participating in the ‘Battle on the Volga,’ which includes a ‘slap battle’ between the YouTuber and two of Russia’s greatest slap-fighting champions.
Paul uploaded a video of himself training for his upcoming fight on May 14, which showed the YouTuber repeatedly slapping a dummy made of pool noodles across from his trainer.

Paul’s video didn’t go unnoticed by his competition; Russian slap champion Vasily ‘Dumpling’ Pelmen uploaded his own video in response to Paul, which showed the champ slapping away a series of training dummies in front of a boxing ring.
While it might seem silly from the outside, ‘Dumpling’ isn’t Russia’s “slap champion” for no reason – the 370 lb champ took the 2019 Male Slapping Championship in an unquestionable, landslide victory at the Siberian Power Show, proving a formidable opponent compared to Paul’s 187 lb frame.
This isn’t the first “training footage” Paul has uploaded ahead of his slap battle, either; the YouTuber took a sound smack across the face from fellow YouTuber Vitaly Zdorovetskiy during Jake Paul’s massive house party on May 14, claiming that he was “ready for Russia” upon recovering from the blow.

Paul’s training comes just a week ahead of the ‘Battle on the Volga,’ which takes place from May 24 – 27 – giving him precious little time to prepare for the event.
KSI vs Logan Paul – the rematch
Although many fans are doubting Paul’s luck against ‘Dumpling,’ he may yet stand a decent chance against his competitor – the YouTuber has been training for his upcoming boxing match against fellow content creator KSI for some time, claiming that he is “collecting skulls this winter” in an Instagram post of his training footage for the match.
KSI and Logan Paul are set to throw down in November 2019, after rumors that their initial contract had the rematch penned for February.
KSI himself claimed that Paul’s team was to blame for the event’s mishandling, but clarified that things would be put into motion during a January video on the topic.
Of course, boxing and slapping are two totally different disciplines – and Paul’s slapping prowess has yet to be truly tested.
