The saga of Nick ‘NICKMERCS‘ Kolcheff’s fallout with 100 Thieves CEO Matt ‘Nadeshot‘ Haag continues to unfold, and now OpTic Gaming‘s Hector ‘H3CZ‘ Rodriguez has found himself in the middle of the drama.
During his daily livestream on May 28, NICKMERCS made a point to address the previous day’s episode of H3CZ’s The Eavesdrop Podcast, in which he talked on the nature of Nick’s recent departure from 100 Thieves.
In the podcast, H3CZ explained that he was siding with Nadeshot on the matter, and called him honorable for keeping the details of the fallout behind closed doors.
This did not sit will with Nick, who took H3CZ’s comments as a slight against him for having made the decision to publicly reveal the reasons for why he left the organization.
“I got motherf*ckers that I look up to, like H3CZ, saying he sides with him,” he said. “And then he says some shit like Nade being quiet about is respectable, in a sense. What the f*ck? I don’t know man. I didn’t like hearing that.”
Nick went on to point out that it was ironic for H3CZ to side with Nadeshot in a situation like this, when the two themselves had similar issues in the past.
“He concluded by saying he sides with Nadeshot,” Nick said. “The comedic part about that, and the irony, is – didn’t this fucking dude go through it with Nadeshot?”
Nick, of course, is referring to the organizational disagreements that H3CZ and Nadeshot apparently had that led to Nade leaving OpTic and ultimately striving to create his own esports organization.
NICKMERCS continued by saying he understood H3CZ’s position, considering that he’s good friends with Nadeshot and would inevitably give him the benefit of the doubt.

However, while he’s never been known to really care about most others’ perception of him, Nick admitted that what was said in the podcast bothered him, primarily because of the negative things he felt that H3CZ was hinting at about his character.
“I mean I get that the motherf*cker has been friends with the guy for a minute, I got all that man,” he explained. “But you go find one motherf*cker that’s worked with me, you go find one teammate of mine, you go find somebody that I’ve been linked up with that I don’t take care of. F*ck out of here! So you go find somebody that worked with me where it didn’t go right. That’s what bothered me about that.”
As for publicly disclosing his reasons for leaving 100T, and H3CZ’s comments about Nade being honorable for not doing the same, Nick defended himself by saying it was the only way, and that he’s never been one to look for drama.
“People want to question me putting it out there, they wanted me to keep it all privately,” he said. “Bro I tried that route! They want to act like I’m just f*cking stupid. Of course keep it private, I don’t want to do this! When it my history have I been a dramatic person, that goes and starts shit with everybody? That’s not me! I don’t do that. This isn’t high school for me. I mean, I’m just not liking what I’m reading man.”
Why did NICKMERCS leave 100 Thieves?
NICKMERCS first joined 100 Thieves back in 2016, when the organization was nothing close to the powerhouse that it is today.
However, on May 24, he announced that he was parting ways with the org, saying that he “wants nothing to do with” Nadeshot after claiming that the CEO did not fulfill the promises he had made when Nick first joined up.
While it’s not clear if and when he’ll decide to join a new org, things are looking up for the superstar streamer, as he recently completed his goal of moving back to his home state of Michigan and purchasing a house, where he will look to build on what has already been a very successful career.
