Marzia Bisognin, wife of YouTube king Felix ‘PewDiePie Kjellberg,’ notably left the platform after seven years in October 2018 — and while it’s been some time since she stopped creating content, jokes about her departure may not be entirely welcome.
After seven years of making videos and vlogging her exotic trips with husband PewDiePie, Marzia announced she was halting her content creating endeavors, claiming that she felt like a “fraud” and wanted to pursue her own career path, rather than following in her hubby’s footsteps on YouTube.
“It’s about needing to find my path, because for a long time I felt like I was following someone else’s,” she said, referencing her relationship with Kjellberg. “I think it’s about time that I give myself a chance with something else.”
Over a year later, fans are comfortable enough to poke fun at her departure from the website — a few memes of which popped up in an April 13 episode of PewDiePie’s LWIAY series.
While he was also apparently fine with joking about the matter, he asked fans to stop memeing Marzia’s emotional and soul-baring video describing why she’d chosen to step back from making videos.
“Don’t meme my wife leaving YouTube, guys, come on,” he warned lightheartedly, going on to react to the meme in question, which joked that his loud recording sessions were the “real” reason she’d decided to leave YouTube.

“Sometimes I record when we travel,” he explained. “I’m always so self-conscious about neighbors, and I always ask Marzia, ‘Was I extremely loud?’ And she’s like, ‘No.’ I guess she’s so conditioned to it. That’s what it is!”

Although it’s obvious that PewDiePie isn’t offended by fans taking the opportunity to make memes of Marzia’s October 2018 video, it makes sense that he’d ask them to pump the brakes a bit, as it was obviously a difficult decision for Marzia to make.
In fact, news of her exodus from the platform went viral online, with fans reaching out across social media in support of a content creator who’d always appeared alongside one of YouTube’s biggest stars with a peek behind the curtain into their private lives.
