Fortnite streamer and Team SoloMid member Ali “Myth” Kabbani has surpassed to Michael “shroud” Grzesiek in Twitch followers, snagging the second place spot, behind Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.
Myth’s rise on Twitch is quite remarkable, reflecting the meteoric rise that other Fortnite focused streamers have enjoyed, as the Battle Royale game has taken over the Amazon-owned platform.
According to statistics at SocialBlade, Myth has grown from just over 100,000 followers in January 2018, up to 3.9 million only six months later.
Comparatively, shroud had over 2 million followers in January 2018, and also has just over 3.9 million in August.
The most followed channel, Ninja, hit 1 million in January, but now has well over 10 million – so he is not being caught anytime soon.
Myth has seen an almost identical growth on YouTube also. In January, he hit 100,000 subscribers, and as of August 5, now has 3.5 million.
His Fortnite streams have been the catalyst, gaining a reputation early in the game’s growth as one of the best builders, with clips of him building bases at lightning pace going viral on Twitter.

Starting with the smallest base of any of the top ten streamers on the followed list, Myth has outperformed what anyone could have predicted was possible in the space of only six months.
Shroud will likely not be too worried about his spot on the rankings, considering he’s only behind by a matter of a few thousand followers at the time of writing, and his growth is similarly impressive.
The former Counter-Strike professional player is still gaining around 250,000 new followers a month, and can attract over 30,000 concurrent viewers playing almost any game.
Myth’s streams are very much strictly Fortnite, but as he continues to grow, he may look to branch out to become a ‘variety’ streamer. For now though, Fortnite is the game of choice – for obvious reasons.
