Introduced with the V6.20 update on October 24, the Glider Re-deploy mechanic in Fortnite has been a hot topic of discussion within the community.
After receiving feedback and collecting data, Epic has announced changes to the system in a developer update on October 31.

For those wishing that the feature should be removed from the game altogether, this update won’t be good news. But for everyone hoping that Epic is listening to feedback, the announced changes are very much welcomed.
“As this feature remains available, we’ll begin making quality of life changes to its functionality. First of which will be prioritizing Glider audio over weapon audio within certain ranges, this will begin in v6.21,” Epic says in the October 31 update.

The above change will be the only one to come with the V6.21 update that will release on November 1.
Epic assures players that they do “plan on adding additional changes in future updates,” meaning the feature will continue to be tweaked in the coming weeks and months.

At the beginning of the update, Epic also acknowledged that they know some players don’t agree with having the mechanic in the game, but nonetheless say they have received positive results thus far.
The Glider Re-deploy improvements won’t be the only thing heading to Fortnite with the V6.21 update, as “gravity-defying” balloons are also on their way to shake up the meta.
