Epic Games have finally revealed the changes that were made to Fortnite Chapter 2 in their v11.01 patch and there is quite a lot to unpack.
The game’s developers unveiled one of – if not the – biggest update in Fortnite history with the opening of Chapter 2, Season 1 on October 15. While that might be hard to top, that hasn’t stopped them from freshening up some other elements of the popular title.
Following the reveal of the patch, there have been a number of new Halloween skins and styles leaked by data miners, but those have yet to be confirmed by Epic Games.
This new v11.01 patch went live on October 22 with some downtime and now the changes are available for all to see, via the official Fortnite Trello page.
For those who aren’t aware, developers use this platform not only to show details of new patches and fixes that have been implemented, but also what to expect from future updates across all game modes – making it an ideal page to bookmark for any battle royale fan.
So, let’s take a look at everything we know so far about the patch notes.

Fortnite Chapter 2 v11.01 patch notes
The following issues have been addressed in the Fortnite Chapter 2 v11.01 patch:
General
- Reports of FPS issues on PC.
- Friends not appearing in the Friends List.
Battle Royale
- Unable to use swapped-to item when character is backed up against camera.
- “Ready Up!” button not appearing in Squads matches until entire party is eliminated.
- Issue with “Get an elimination from 50m or further” Open Water Challenge.
- Daily Punchcard remaining on-screen.
- Gift wrap missing for gifted Battle Passes.
It was widely suggested by data miners and leakers that the patch would be bringing more content to other game modes, as opposed to Battle Royale, and that has turned out to be the case.
For those interested in the new Save the World content, head over to Fortnite’s October 22 blog post for more details.
In terms of Battle Royale, it appears that small tweaks have been made following on from the Fortnite v11.00.1 update – which also included chiefly small fixes. A notable fix was made to one of the Open Water challenges, though, and you can check out our easy guide on how to complete them here.
While many fans might have been hoping for sweeping changes across the mode once again, it was always going to be a long shot. After all, a lot of players won’t have even dropped at all of the locations on the new map just yet. FPS issues on PC, though, have been resolved.
