Helicopters could be making their way to Fortnite in the very near future and brand new leaks have uncovered just how powerful these new vehicles will be.
From motorboats to shopping carts, Epic Games’ popular battle royale has seen a fair share of vehicles come and go over the seasons and a new addition could be on the horizon.
Recent leaks appear to have confirmed the existence of a helicopter in Fortnite’s files, revealing various functions and statistics. However, new information has revealed just how devastating the upcoming vehicle could be at launch.
While prominent Fortnite dataminers already unearthed the fact that helicopters will soar into battle with 1,500 HP and boosters to give a bump in speed, we now know exactly how much damage the vehicle is capable of dealing as well.
Revealed on March 3 by French Fortnite leaker ‘Yanteh’ and later translated by fellow community member ‘FNBRHQ,’ helicopters will be capable of dealing damage in numerous ways once they appear on the map.
When crashing into enemy structures for instance, the vehicle will instantly deal 150 damage, whereas the explosion from a damaged helicopter will deal a whopping 450 damage to buildings.
The helicopters are in the files:
Spawn rate: 0% Damage to players: 50 Build damage: 150 Explosion damage to players: 70 Explosion damage to builds: 450 Damage from when it hits a player (Minimum speed): 20 Damage when touched: 100 #Fortnite

Crashing directly into opposing players could be absolutely devastating. While you’ll only deal 20 damage to enemies if you’re traveling at the minimum speed, ramping up a notch will allow you to deal a full 100 damage per swoop with the aerial vehicle.
Similar to the X-4 Stormwing that was vaulted in Season Eight, whenever you see a helicopter in the sky, you’ll know that it’s capable of wiping out not only your structures, but your entire squad if the pilot is on point.
Having notoriously implemented a number of absurdly powerful vehicles in the past, including the highly controversial B.R.U.T.E. mech that was disabled after ample criticism, Epic could be setting themselves up for another divisive addition if the helicopter is deemed too strong.
There’s no set date as to when the vehicle may appear in Fortnite, but given the amount of information that has leaked throughout the past few updates, their addition could be imminent
While previous aerial vehicles were seen as more of an annoyance than anything else, perhaps the developers at Epic have finally figured out a way to keep helicopters balanced and ensure the game doesn’t grow too frustrating as a result.
Additional leaks in the latest Fortnite updates have also unveiled a number of powerful weapons set to make their mark in the near future as well.
