An Overwatch player showed off a powerful flanking tactic with Doomfist on Eichenwalde.
Eichenwalde plays host to one of the most notorious choke points in the game, at the arch separating the attacking spawn area from the first capture point.
To defend that choke point, defending teams will often set up a bunker behind the arch, far enough back to be tricky to dive directly but still with a full line-of-sight on attackers trying to push through the arch or the room next to it.
Breaking that bunker can be incredibly difficult if the defensive team don’t take any big risks, but u/3justincredible demonstrated a flank with Doomfist over the buildings to the right of the choke point that allows him to hit the enemy back-line directly.
While the flanking route over the buildings certainly isn’t new, figuring out which heroes can pull it off can be tricky. Doomfist may be one of the most mobile heroes in the game, but due to the height of the buildings on the right-hand side of the choke point, getting over it requires a fairly precise sequence of abilities.
First, u/3justincredible uses Rising Uppercut to gain some height, before aiming a Rocket Punch at the roof of the building. Due to the angle of the roof, this bounces Doomfist upwards, giving him the extra height he needs so that Seismic Slam can carry him over the rest of the building and onto the defending players below.

Due to the height at which he’s coming from, Doomfist spends more than enough time in the air to fully charge Seismic Slam to deal maximum damage when he lands, which in this case results in two instant kills on the softer targets, McCree and Ana.
Doomfist certainly isn’t the only hero that can flank over the buildings next to the point A choke. The likes of Wrecking Ball can swing around the outside of the map and then over the roofs, while Junkrat can also make the jump along the same line as Doomfist, albeit with a little help.
Adding Doomfist into the mix gives even more options for a powerful dive onto an enemy bunker. While u/3justincredible went in alone in this case, even that was enough to open up a major advantage for his team – adding even another hero in support could make for an even more dangerous flank.
