Major news came out of the Jan 16 Nintendo Direct for Smash Ultimate fans, including the reveal of a brand-new fighter — but some added bonuses were also announced, which brought elements from Assassin’s Creed, Cuphead, and a few other games.
Fans seem split on the conclusion of the first Fighters Pass, with the final character being Byleth, the main protagonist from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
However, there are still a few new additions that fans have gotten excited for in Smash, and they come in the form of Mii Fighter skins.
Both Assassin’s Creed and Cuphead-inspired outfits will be available once this DLC is released. While it’s not a replacement for those let down by Byleth, it does help soften the blow of receiving yet another Fire Emblem fighter.
Cuphead is largely the headliner in this lineup similar to the way Sans overshadowed Terry Bogard when he was first released. A special music track from the game will be released alongside the character’s Mii outfit, so Cuphead fans have a wealth of “cartoon” content coming their way.
In total, five new skins are coming to the Mii Fighter: Cuphead, Altair from Assassin’s Creed, two Mega Man costumes, and a Rabbid from the Rayman series.
They will be available for 75 cents a pop, so you won’t have to worry about breaking the bank to purchase one. While they aren’t the same exact thing as a new character, they definitely add some pizzazz to the character.

These outfits will go sale January 28, which is the same time players can expect to get their hands on Byleth.
For those of you still starving for new Smash content, don’t worry, because it doesn’t look like things will be slowing down any time soon.
Fresh off the conclusion of this Fighters Pass, it was announced a second Pass with six more characters will be arriving in the future, so it’s an exciting time to be a Smash Ultimate fan.
This means that, for those out there still hoping for Master Chief, Dante, or any other characters, there’s still hope.
