Smash Bros God Juan ‘Hungrybox’ Debiedma seemed to meet his match in Ultimate when he faced off against an Incineroar player named Magister online.
Hungrybox is most well known for his impeccable skills at Melee where he has won countless competitions and major tournaments. Recent buffs to his main, Jigglypuff, in Ultimate have pushed the esports star to the recent title where he’s been actively practicing.
During a December 22 Twitch stream, the Team Liquid pro was matched up against Incineroar player Magister in Elite Smash where he proceeded to lose multiple games in a row.
The moment where Hungrybox was truly stunned came after the Clutch Puff was hit with Incineroar’s super risky side B move off stage after reading his jump, resulting in the wrestling Pokemon taking a stock.
“What?!” the bewildered Hungrybox shouted as he stood up in disbelief. “How did you know? How did he go for a side B? You’re a God! You are a f**king God! How? Are you f**king kidding me?”
Debiedma was so blown away, he labeled his opponent a “Gameshark motherf**ker,” a reference to the cheat device made popular in the 90s that altered games to give players things such as invincibility in games that didn’t have cheat codes.

As the match continued, the pro player lost yet another set to the Incineroar after having his shield broken, resulting in an easy kill for Magister.
In the very next game, however, Hungrybox was finally able to quench his thirst for victory when he finally took a game off the Elite Smasher with a well-time Rest to earn the win. That said, Hungrybox wasn’t down for yet another rematch and was happy with his one win.
“Oh my God. Thank God,” he breathed a sigh of relief after the win. “1-10, that’s all we needed. Later, no more.”
With that said, Debiedma was so impressed with the player he praised Magister for “kicking his ass harder than any Incineroar and hoped that if he was watching the stream one of his viewers would gift him a sub.
It was a dominating showing to say the least and one of the few times that the Smash God was actually left visibly stunned by an opponent.
