Activision and Infinity Ward will be releasing more new content in Modern Warfare on December 10 as part of the game’s newly-launched Season 1.
Released on December 3, Modern Warfare Season 1 included the biggest post-launch content drop in Call of Duty history.
The update added a remake of the iconic Crash map to multiplayer, two Gunfight maps Atrium and Cargo (which has an incredible easter egg), two weapons, a fully-fledged Battle Pass with 100+ Tiers, and much more.
At the time, Activision revealed that not all of the announced Season 1 content would be going live at once. Instead, some of it would be released periodically in the following weeks.
Now that a week has passed, more is on its way, including two new multiplayer modes, Infected and Gunfight O.S.P., and two cosmetic bundles, Cold Blood and Mother Russia. This wave of new content will go live on Tuesday, December 10, presumably at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
New multiplayer modes – Infected and Gunfight O.S.P.
Infected is a casual survival-based game mode that has featured in many Call of Duty titles in the past. The premise is for the infected team to try and infect players from the survivors team, who must try and protect themselves for as long as they can.
The game ends when either all of the players have become infected or the time runs out and at least one survivor remains alive.
The other new mode, Gunfight O.S.P., isn’t actually new since it featured briefly during both the Gunfight Alpha and Modern Warfare Beta.

It’s a variation of the 2v2 Gunfight mode that’s currently in Modern Warfare, except players have to find and pick up weapons and items from the ground, rather than spawning in with a pre-determined loadout at the start of every round.
Both of these modes will only be available for a limited time, going live on December 10 until December 18.
Two new cosmetic bundles – Cold Blood and Mother Russia
The Cold Blood cosmetic bundle includes 10 winter-themed items including an Operator skin, three weapon blueprints, a watch, and more. The price has been set to 2,400 CoD Points, which is equal to $19.99.
The second featured bundle is called Mother Russia: “Go behind the Iron Curtain and flex your superpower: a red state collection for world domination.”
This too features 10 themed cosmetic items, however, the main difference is that it has only two weapon blueprints, which is why it’s 400 CoD Points cheaper than Cold Blood.
This is, of course, only the first week of new content following the initial Season One launch, so there will be more added as the weeks roll on.
Still waiting in the pipeline are the Vacant and Shipment maps from CoD 4 (the latter being made available for both the regular multiplayer and Gunfight) and more Special Ops experiences, both new and classic.
